From the time of recording to the time of the album's release, Every Chalice Poisoned took about a year. I wanted to make a very personal album, with the lyrical themes centering around my own internal struggles. The beats are hard and fast, probably more dancefloor focused than anything Non-Bio has done before.
I knew fro mearly on that I wanted this album to get a physical release - having not done so with Monkey Feather and later regretted it - and I was lucky enough to get my old friend Paul Five on board to do the mastering on this one, so I agonised overi t during the mixing to try and make the album as polished as I could possibly get it.
A number of previous Non-Bio releases had featured bonus remixes and this time I put out an open call to see who, out of my musician friends, would be interested in contributing. I was delighted when five people came up with the goods, and they are all very good quality remixes, all very different from one another and all providing a fascinating alternate take on tracks from the album.
A promo video was released for the track Squirm back in August, in anticipation of the album. The video was entirely animated in Maya and features several grotesque characters designed specifically for this project. Another animated video is planned to follow this later in the year.
Like its predecessors, Every Chalice Poisoned is available through Bandcamp. I have also however arranged for it to be released via Amazon, iTunes and all other good online shops, as well as to stream via Spotify, Youtube and similar streaming platforms. In fact, I have now (finally!) made all of Non-Bio's recent albums accessible in this way!
